March 28, 2026

Today, we joined our conservation partners Bhutan Ecological Society, Bhutan for Life, Bhutan Trust Fund, and WWF Bhutan to mark the 20th anniversary of EarthHour at Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC).

This collective effort reflects a shared commitment to protecting Bhutan’s natural heritage and underscores the power of collaboration in addressing urgent environmental challenges—especially in landscapes like GMC, where sustainable development and conservation must go hand in hand. In a region where human–elephant conflict remains a reality, the celebration served as a reminder that conservation is not only about protecting wildlife, but also about safeguarding communities and livelihoods.

The day was further enriched by a thoughtful panel discussion, where experts from diverse fields explored the intersection of conservation and urban development.

The Bhutan Foundation remains deeply committed to conservation—supporting efforts to protect biodiversity, strengthen community resilience, and promote coexistence.

As we switched off our lights tonight, we did more than mark an hour—we reaffirmed our shared responsibility to take meaningful action for our communities and our planet.
