As part of the Multimedia Functional Program for Children with Diverse Abilities, the Bhutan Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Skills Development and the Australian High Commission, is supporting teacher capacity-building sessions to strengthen multimedia and technical skills in inclusive education.
Conducted by Athang Learning Institute, the training provides teachers with practical knowledge and tools to integrate multimedia-based learning approaches into their classrooms. Through the program, educators are learning how to better support students in developing functional, creative, and vocational skills that can contribute to greater confidence, independence, and future readiness.
Teachers play a vital role in identifying and nurturing the strengths, interests, and potential of children with diverse abilities. By strengthening teacher capacity, the initiative aims to create more engaging and meaningful learning experiences where students can explore their abilities, build practical skills, and prepare for continued education, skills development, and future employment opportunities.

The Multimedia Functional Program is part of the Bhutan Foundation’s broader commitment to strengthening functional and vocational education pathways for children with diverse abilities. Through continued collaboration with schools and partners, the program supports improved transition planning and helps prepare learners for life beyond the classroom.
When teachers are equipped with the right skills, tools, and resources, classrooms become spaces where possibilities grow and every learner has the opportunity to thrive.
