The Bhutan Foundation is working with Draktsho Vocational Training Center to include our special children and youth in entrepreneurship programs through an inclusive entrepreneurship curriculum. Only the mainstream entrepreneurs are trained with the existing entrepreneurship curriculum for one to two weeks.

We require the curriculum to be adapted, encompassing visual aids and more practical sessions for youth with special needs to understand the concept of entrepreneurship. These sessions will enable them to run and manage their own business with these additional specialized training and learning aids. This initiative will also complement Draktsho’s goal to promote equal work opportunities for persons with special needs keeping in view the current employment scenario for youth in Bhutan.

In December 2021, Draktso also partnered with the Ministry of Labor and Human Resources to conduct a Training of Trainers (ToT) for teachers and other stakeholders on entrepreneurship which will facilitate this program.

We will help Draktsho launch their Draktsho Entrepreneurship Fund and support four entrepreneurs led by youth with disabilities to start their businesses through this project. Keep following us for more updates in the coming days on this program.
